Modern structural biologists don't know manual model building
The reason I decided to move away from structural biology. I cannot share values with "modern" biologists. They think structure determination is worthwhile only as a means to answer biological questions. As long as they can answer their biological questions, they do not pursue higher resolutions or spend time to properly model biologically-not-very-interesting regions. They do not care if a method is prone to over-fitting or hallucinations or biases as long as it is useful to answer biological questions. For example, they happily refine atomic models against maps modified by neural networks or extrapolated.
